About Mint Mates…

At Mint Mates, our mission is simple, we are here to:

  • Ignite the fire in young people (around 12-25yrs) to invest in their personal and professional growth and write their own story.

  • Build the skills that matter, life skills, career development and the mindset to crush it, while always prioritising their mental health.

  • Empower them to unlock their full potential and become the best version of themselves.

  • Together, shape a community of young people that doesn’t just overcome life’s challenges but thrives through them.

As a Youth Mentor and Motivator, I team up with young people to help them discover their natural talents and build new skills that unlock a whole new level of confidence. This isn’t just about learning – it’s about unlocking and developing an epic skill set that lets them tackle the real world and life’s challenges with confidence.

There is no one-size-fits all approach. I work with each young person in a way that feels real to them using different methods to match their own pace and learning style.

Mint Mates is about helping them embrace new thought processes and new beliefs that embody their true potential and feel unstoppable as they move through life. This isn’t just mentorship – it’s about building a mindset that carries them through life.

Hi, I’m Jules…

My superpower is being able to connect, communicate and see the incredible uniqueness and beauty in every single young person. Understanding and connecting with young people is my skill and I’m bloody proud of it and the small part I can play in supporting a young person in their life (or a bigger one if kicking goals).

With a wealth of life experiences spanning Hong Kong, Japan, Melbourne, and New York, I’ve not only lived, worked, and navigated diverse school systems but also earned my stripes in both the corporate world and youth mentoring spaces.

I have studied and hold qualifications in areas including Mental Health, Training & Assessment, Youth Mentoring, Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselling, Holistic Health Coaching and Aboriginal Mental Health Assessments. I am so committed to empowering youth and by combining formal education with practical, hands-on experience, I’m able to provide valuable support to young people on their journeys.

I’ve put in hundreds of practical hours with Headspace Brisbane, where I co-designed the game “Help a Mate”—a resource published by Headspace to support youth wellbeing. I’ve also spent over 15 years in the corporate world specialising in Learning & Development, Facilitation, Project Management, Operations, Client Services and Recruitment.

My professional journey includes designing and facilitating programs on performance management, workplace culture, and personality styles, as well as co-facilitating an 8-week Diversity Club for LGBTQIA+ youth. I’ve also delivered youth mental health presentations to Queensland TAFE students.

But what makes Mint Mates truly unique is how all this experience comes together in supporting young people with real-life challenges - whether it’s relationship issues, school and university struggles, social media pressures, life transitions, or the stress of managing change.

And because I like to keep things real, I’ve also experienced a few quirky moments along the way: like being stung by Asian Giant Hornets in Taiwan, almost getting mugged on the New York subway and having my bodysuit ride up during a boardroom presentation! These moments just add to the colour and resilience I bring to my work. This is just a little bit of my story, please know that I would be honoured to “hold a space” for you to hear a bit of yours.

Mint Mates can support you with:

  • Feeling uncertain about the future - education, employability, career choices, how to figure it all out.

  • Creating a CV that is about you and the value you bring, in addition to achievements.

  • Self-esteem & Identity struggles - comparisons making you feel inadequate, where do I fit in? who am I?

  • Social Connections – rocky friendships, connection challenges
